Modeling the adaptability I encourage in others.
Embracing Flexibility in Therapy
I view the therapeutic process as a fluid one, a process that, at many times, requires an out of the box approach. If I am to emphasize the importance of flexibility to someone during any session, then that is something I need to model in my therapeutic approach, when necessary.

Regarding therapeutic modalities, I consider my approach to be an eclectic one, utilizing cognitive-behavioral theory and techniques, such as schema therapy, with a person-centered approach. I also have found that no matter which therapeutic modality I use, having a strength-based approach as the foundation has yielded observable strength in the therapeutic alliance I have the privilege of sharing with various individuals I have worked with.
